Angor is a Vienna-based black/doom project whose recordings layer glacial, dirge-paced riffs over a bleak atmosphere shaped by early-Scandinavian black metal orthodoxy. Their music favours long-form compositions that unfold slowly, weaponising repetition and dissonance to cultivate a sense of spiritual desolation.
Angra Ahriman channels black metal from the western Finnish port city of Rauma since 2016. Their name doubles down on Zoroastrian evil, combining two names for the destructive spirit, and their sound delivers the concentrated darkness that redundancy implies.
