Antropofagia were a death metal and grindcore band originating in Olinda, Pernambuco and later based in the neighboring city of Paulista, Brazil, formed in 2024 and split up shortly after. Operating within the brutal underground tradition of northeastern Brazilian extreme metal, the band drew on the visceral death/grind template and the 'antropofagia' concept — a cannibalistic cultural metaphor with deep Brazilian artistic roots — as both name and aesthetic. Their brief existence left a limited but intense recorded footprint in the local underground.
Antropofago has been crafting technically demanding brutal death metal from Montpellier since 2010, earning the distinction of opening for Sepultura and performing at Metaldays. Their approach brings real songcraft to technical death metal, creating memorable compositions within a framework of extreme brutality.
Antropomancia is a death metal band from Lima, Peru, formed in 2015 and signed to Unholy Domain Records. The band deals in themes of occultism, death, and violence, and has released demo recordings including "Promo MMXX" (2020) and "Morbid Initiation" (2021). Their work appeared on the compilation "Black and Death Compilation" with the track "Condemned to Malefice."

Antítese were a thrash/death metal band from Osasco, São Paulo, originally founded in 1986 and part of the first wave of Brazilian extreme metal.
