Thicc is a Los Angeles death metal act formed in 2026, bringing a confrontational name and presumably equally confrontational riffing to the crowded Southern California extreme metal scene. As one of the newest bands in the LA underground, they are just beginning to carve out their identity.
Thicker than Blood come out of Detroit, Michigan with a ferocious hybrid of death metal, grindcore, and hardcore that has been tearing through the city's heavy underground since 2012. Their Motor City roots infuse their blunt, industrial-strength brutality with a gritty working-class intensity.
Thirdmoon formed in Linz, Austria in 1994, founded by Wolfgang Rothbauer and initially working in fast-paced melodic black metal before migrating toward melodic death metal over successive releases. Their debut Grotesque Autumnal Weepings (1997) established their sound, followed by Aquis Submersus (1999) and Bloodforsaken (2000) on Napalm Records, which shifted the band's approach toward heavier melodic death territory. After parting from Napalm, further albums appeared over subsequent years including Sworn Enemy: Heaven and Terrarum Exuviae (2018), marking a long-running career that spans multiple stylistic phases within the extreme metal spectrum.
Formed in 2012 in Lake View, South Carolina, Thirst for Clarity pull from death metal brutality, groove-driven heaviness, and the melodic ambitions of progressive metalcore, building dense, layered songs that resist easy genre labels.
