Expulser is a death/thrash metal band from Lavras, Minas Gerais, Brazil, originally formed in 1989 and regarded as a cult act in the Brazilian underground extreme metal scene. Their debut album "The Unholy One" was released in 1992 on Cogumelo Records and has since been reissued multiple times; after disbanding in 2004, the band was reformed by original bassist Alessandro Lima in 2015 and has remained active since.
Geneseo, Illinois' Expulsion have been playing thrash metal since 2017 from one of the American Midwest's smaller college towns, demonstrating that the genre's DIY ethos takes root just as well in rural Illinois as in any major city. Exscidium is a thrash metal band from Bahía Blanca, Argentina, with a lineup that includes vocalist and guitarist Carlos Orlando and guitarist Nicolas Amestoy. The band released the full-length América Rapiña in 2015 and the EP Genealogía Del Miedo in 2021, the latter featuring tracks such as "Aporías" and "Gusanos". They also appeared on the Thrash S.A. compilation series, which documented the Argentine thrash underground.
