The Styx Shipping Society from the Fichtelgebirge mountains in northeastern Bavaria craft black metal under a darkly whimsical concept — ferrying souls across the river Styx since 2008. Nearly two decades of activity from this remote Franconian mountain range has produced atmospheric black metal steeped in mythological death-transport imagery.
The Suicide Machines formed in Detroit in 1991 and became one of the fastest, most abrasive bands to come out of the 1990s ska-punk wave.
