Voidstalker is a nihilistic black metal project from Carinthia, Austria, formed in 2018 and rooted in old-school black metal aesthetics. Their releases include a limited-edition split cassette with Plaguepreacher, recorded at Sounddelusion Studio, with only 100 hand-numbered copies pressed worldwide.
Boise's Voidstrider have been carving out a heavy/stoner metal niche since 2019 that also pulls freely from psychedelic rock — warm fuzz tones, riff-forward songwriting, and a loose cosmic swagger that keeps the music from feeling purely riff-mechanical. Durham, North Carolina's Voidward have been playing stoner metal and psychedelic rock since 2013, which puts them among the more seasoned acts in a genre where many bands flame out before hitting the five-year mark.
