Carvakas
Carvakas is a death metal band from Santiago, Chile formed around 2010–2012, whose name derives from the ancient Indian materialist philosopher Carvaka — a choice that reflects their commitment to philosophical, non-supernatural lyrical themes. Their four albums — Stultifera Navis (2013), Anti-Platonic Machinery (2015), Flesh Over Bones (2018), and Casus (2022) — combine technical riffing and polyrhythmic structures with progressive elements, each record conceptually grounded in a distinct philosophical tradition.
