Stockholm's Comecon were a peculiar and inventive death metal outfit active from 1989 to 1995, distinguished by their use of a drum machine and a rotating cast of guest vocalists that included Lars-Göran Petrov of Entombed, Martin van Drunen of Asphyx, and Marc Grewe of Morgoth across their three studio albums. Their records — Megatrends in Brutality (1992), Converging Conspiracies (1993), and the more dissonant and industrial-tinged Fable Frolic (1995) — occupy a quirky but respected niche in the annals of early Swedish death metal.
