East West Blast Test
East West Blast Test is a collaborative grindcore and power violence project formed in 1999, pairing drummer Dave Witte (Burnt by the Sun, Human Remains) on the East Coast with multi-instrumentalist Chris Dodge (Spazz) on the West Coast, assembling material via mailed tapes. Their self-titled debut (2003) stacked jazz-noise, thrash, and hardcore into 27 rapid-fire tracks, with guests including Municipal Waste's Tony Foresta and Faith No More's Dean Menta. A second album, Popular Music for Unpopular People, raised the chaos further on Ipecac Recordings.
