Esche
Esche is a Swiss ensemble from Bern operating at the intersection of chamber music and experimental composition, releasing their debut album Leiser Protest in 2016 and the follow-up Der Dichter Spricht in 2018. The project, led by pianist Luzius Schuler alongside violinist Laura Schuler and double bassist Lisa Hoppe, received recognition from Swiss national broadcaster SRF and international jazz press. While catalogued under post-metal in some directories, their primary mode is contemporary chamber jazz with somber, introspective textures.
