Death Metal
Formed in Nyköping, Sweden in 1989 under a succession of names before settling on Gorement in 1991, the band recorded their sole full-length The Ending Quest in February 1993, released the following year on Crypta Records. The album captured a raw, mid-paced strain of Swedish death metal before the band shifted direction, eventually dissolving and reforming as the rock-oriented Pipers Dawn by 1996. The Ending Quest has since been recognized as an underappreciated entry in the early Swedish death metal canon.
