Formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1994 as In Sect before adopting the Halo name in 1997, the band developed a confrontational sound rooted in drone, sludge, and industrial metal in the tradition of Swans and Godflesh. They relocated to London and released a series of albums including Massive Corporate Disease (1999) and Degree Zero Point of Implosion (2000) that explored themes of societal corruption and post-industrial despair with grinding sonic density. Now operating as a duo of Skye Klein and Robert Allen, Halo have been signed to Relapse Records.
