Ion Dissonance
Formed in Montreal in late 2001 by guitarists Antoine Lussier and Sébastien Chaput, Ion Dissonance became one of Canada's most technically uncompromising mathcore acts, combining rapid tempo shifts, dissonant riffing, and aggressive vocals into tightly constructed but volatile compositions. Their five studio albums, from the debut Breathing Is Irrelevant (2003) through Cast the First Stone (2016), trace the development of a band that helped define the Canadian extreme metalcore underground.
