Kubark is a grindcore band from Valparaíso, Chile, whose name is borrowed from the CIA's classified 1963 counterintelligence interrogation manual — a reference that resonates sharply given Chile's history of US-backed state violence. Their 2015 full-length Exterminados Como Ratas and 2019 EP Desintegración Interior deliver short, abrasive tracks addressing state repression, police brutality, and social collapse, and they have appeared on a Latin American grindcore split alongside bands from Peru, Colombia, and Argentina.
