Morgoth

Death Metal
Formed in Meschede, Germany in 1987, Morgoth were one of the country's earliest and most significant death metal bands, recording the influential EPs Resurrection Absurd (1989) and The Eternal Fall (1990) before their debut full-length Cursed (1991) sold over 100,000 copies. Subsequent albums saw the band incorporate industrial elements, with Odium (1993) and Feel Sorry for the Fanatic (1996) reflecting a shift away from death metal. After breaking up in 1998 and reforming in 2010, they released the comeback album Ungod (2015) before ultimately disbanding again in 2020.
