A Belo Horizonte heavy metal act fronted by vocalist Cynthia Mara, Pleiades built an early reputation opening for Deep Purple on two separate occasions — the first time with guitarist André Mendonça still a teenager. The band contributed a cover of "Woman from Tokyo" to the Deep Purple tribute compilation Woman from Brazil, released by Armadillo Records in 2020.
