Saor
Saor is a Scottish atmospheric black metal project formed by Glasgow-based multi-instrumentalist Andy Marshall in 2013, rooted in the landscapes, history, and poetry of the Scottish Highlands. Marshall describes his music as 'Caledonian metal,' weaving Celtic folk melodies and traditional instrumentation into expansive black metal compositions without leaning on genre conventions. The project has released several acclaimed albums including Forgotten Paths, Origins, and Amidst the Ruins, establishing Saor as one of the most distinctive voices in European atmospheric and folk-influenced black metal.
