Seth
Seth is a French black metal band founded in Bordeaux in 1995, emerging as one of the leading acts of the French extreme metal underground with their 1998 debut Les Blessures de l'Âme. The band's sound balances hauntingly melodic passages with aggressive orthodox black metal structures, and their lyrical themes draw from religious transgression, historical atrocity, and French cultural mythology. After a decade-long hiatus following their 2005 split, Seth reformed in 2011 and continued releasing albums, with La France des Maudits arriving in 2024, a conceptual work inspired by the violence of the French Revolution.
