Skaldr is a Virginia black metal project formed in 2018, drawing on the runic and mythological weight implied by the Old Norse name — a skald being an ancient Norse poet — to craft atmospheric, cold-blooded black metal. Their sound tends toward the introspective and Northern-influenced end of the American underground.
