UltraMantis Black is a hardcore band formed in 2014 by professional wrestler and musician UltraMantis Black alongside members of noise-rock group Pissed Jeans. The band's debut self-titled EP was recorded that same year and released on Sub Pop, combining grindcore intensity with hardcore punk aggression. Two subsequent full-lengths on Relapse Records continued the project, which has paired physical showmanship with explicitly political themes around animal rights and environmental activism.
