Unearth
Unearth formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1998 and developed into one of the most consistent American metalcore acts of the 2000s, combining European melodic death metal guitar work with hardcore-driven breakdowns and rhythms. Their breakthrough The Oncoming Storm (2004) on Metal Blade Records debuted on the Billboard 200 and established the template they would build on across eight studio albums, including Darkness in the Light (2011) and The Wretched; the Ruinous (2023). The band's twin-guitar interplay between Trevor Phipps and Buz McGrath has been a defining element of their sound for over two decades.
