Varg
Varg formed in 2005 in Coburg, Bavaria, Germany, founded by guitarist Philipp Seiler and drummer Silvester Grundmann, and play a style they describe as wolf metal — a fusion of pagan metal, melodic black metal, and folk metal built around themes of Norse mythology, Viking culture, and the natural world. The band has been explicit in positioning itself against far-right associations within the pagan metal sphere. Signed to Napalm Records, their catalog includes Wolfskult (2011) and Ewige Wacht (2023), with repeated chart appearances in Germany.
