Vipassi
Vipassi was formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2011 as a collaboration between drummer Daniel Presland of Ne Obliviscaris and guitarist Ben Boyle of Hadal Maw, later expanding to include guitarist Benjamin Baret and fretless bassist Arran McSporran. The band plays instrumental progressive and death metal of considerable technical ambition, debuting with Śūnyatā in 2017 and continuing with subsequent records on Season of Mist. Their music is informed by meditative and philosophical themes that extend to their song structures and titling.
