Warpig
Warpig formed in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada in 1968 from members of several earlier local rock groups, and recorded a debut album in 1972 that stands as an early example of psychedelic proto-metal characterized by heavy riffing, organ-driven arrangements, and a raw, blues-rooted intensity. The album spent decades in obscurity before collector interest and high resale prices prompted a reunion in 2004, cementing the band's retrospective reputation as an overlooked artifact of North American heavy rock's earliest years.
