Year Of The Goat
Formed in Norrköping, Sweden around 2006 by Thomas Sabbathi, Year of the Goat operate within the occult rock tradition, fusing proto-metal heaviness, psychedelic hard rock, and gothic doom with esoteric lyrical themes in the lineage of Blue Öyster Cult, Witchfinder General, and In Solitude. Their debut Angels' Necropolis (2012) established the template, and the subsequent albums The Unspeakable (2015) and Novis Orbis Terrarum Ordinis (2019) sustained critical recognition within heavy rock and doom circles. The 2025 album Trivia Goddess, released through Napalm Records, took the historically documented persecution of women by religious and patriarchal power as its conceptual framework.
