Zimmer's Hole
Zimmer's Hole is a Vancouver, British Columbia thrash and death metal band formed in 1991 as a side project by Strapping Young Lad members Jed Simon and Byron Stroud, named in tribute to a late friend, Dean Zimmer. The group built its identity around technically aggressive metal delivered with comedic and satirical intent, releasing three full-length albums: Bound by Fire (1997), Legion of Flames (2001), and When You Were Shouting at the Devil...We Were in League with Satan (2008) on Century Media Records. When Strapping Young Lad disbanded in 2007, Zimmer's Hole transitioned into a primary project. All three albums received reissues in the 2020s, reintroducing the band to a new generation of thrash listeners.
