Me and That Man is a dark folk and country-blues project founded in 2013 by Polish black metal musician Adam 'Nergal' Darski, the frontman of Behemoth, in collaboration with guitarist John Porter. The project debuted with Songs of Love and Death in 2017 and continued with New Man, New Songs, Same Shit Vol. 1 (2020) and Vol. 2 (2021), drawing stylistic inspiration from Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, and Nick Cave. The project represents a stark artistic departure from Nergal's black and death metal origins, channeling a melancholic Americana aesthetic through a distinctly European sensibility.

The Picturebooks are a duo from Gütersloh, Germany, formed in 2009 by vocalist and guitarist Fynn Claus Grabke and drummer Philipp Mirtschink, the two having been close friends since their teenage years. Their sound is built on raw, stripped-down blues and garage rock recorded live with minimal microphone placement to preserve natural room reverb, a philosophy that gives their records an immediacy few studio productions achieve. Albums including The Hands of Time, Imaginary Horse, and Home Is a Heartache established them as one of the more distinctly voiced acts in the European heavy blues underground. Their music has been compared to the directness of The White Stripes and the desert-rock density of Queens of the Stone Age.
AU · 2014–present · active
The Ugly Kings formed in Melbourne, Australia around 2014, delivering a sound the band describes as "power blues" — a combination of darkened heavy blues, raw punk energy, and a metallic rock edge that draws on the directness of The White Stripes and the weight of Queens of the Stone Age. Their debut Darkness Is My Home was received as one of the standout Australian heavy rock releases of its year, and their sophomore album Strange, Strange Times, released via Napalm Records in August 2021, extended their reach internationally. The two-piece format gives their recordings a sparse but punishing character consistent with the stripped-down blues rock tradition.
