Ratos de Porão (Portuguese for "Basement Rats") formed in São Paulo in November 1981 and went on to release Crucificados pelo Sistema in 1984, the first hardcore punk LP issued by a Latin American band. Vocalist João Gordo joined for that debut and has remained the band's frontman ever since; their 1987 album Cada dia mais sujo e agressivo is widely credited as the first Brazilian crossover thrash record of note, and the band has since released more than fourteen studio albums while continuing to tour South America, North America, Europe, and Asia.
Realidade Encoberta is a crossover thrash band from Recife, Pernambuco, originally founded in 1987 by Nado and Daniel Malcriado; the band disbanded after Nado's death and reconstituted in 2013 with a new lineup anchored by vocalist Carlos Underground and guitarist Túlio Falcão. Since the reunion they have released Momentos Antes do Caos (2014), Morte e Progresso (2016), and Não Vivamos Mais Como Escravos (2019), the last of which closes with a Minor Threat cover.
Crossover/hardcore band from Schroeder, Santa Catarina, active from 1998 to 2006, drawing from DRI, Ratos de Porão, and DFC. The band recorded their first CD-demo Cachorro Loco (1999) at Catharina Studio in Jaraguá do Sul, released the full-length Possuído (2002) at AML Studio in Florianópolis, and closed their run with the 19-track Proliferação do Mal (2007), recorded at RVB Studios in Blumenau.
Crossover thrash band from Santos, São Paulo, active since 2002 with a lineup featuring dual vocalists Osvaldo and Fernandez alongside guitarists Leão and Ricardo, bassist Juninho, and drummer Bruno. Their discography spans over a decade of self-released material, opening with the six-track demo Atitude e Ação (2002) and including Terra e Vida (2006), A Herança é o Ódio (2007), and the 2014 full-length Mais Uma Martelada das Nossas Verdades.
Thrash/crossover band from Manaus, Amazonas, with a lineup of Kalleby Marciel on vocals, Elias Bruce on guitar, Victor Vasconcelos on bass, and Felipe de Farias on drums. The band released the EP EPrengue (August 12, 2017) via Studio Fubica Records and followed it with SO FAST...SO GOOD...SO GRALHA (March 21, 2021), a six-track EP recorded from a distinctly Amazonian perspective.
