Lawnmower Deth is a crossover thrash band from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, formed in 1987, whose entire output is built around absurdist humor, nonsensical lyrics, and an unapologetic parody of death metal tropes. Their Earache Records debut Ooh Crikey It's... Lawnmower Deth (1990) and its follow-ups Return of the Fabulous Metal Bozo Clowns (1992) and Billy (1993) cultivated a cult following before the band dissolved from declining sales. A reunion beginning around 2008 eventually yielded Blunt Cutters (2022), their first new album in nearly three decades.

Life of Agony is a Brooklyn, New York band formed in 1989 whose debut River Runs Red (1993, Roadrunner Records) is a widely cited cornerstone of the crossover between hardcore, alternative metal, and groove metal. The album's loose narrative arc around personal despair and suburban alienation anticipated the confessional intensity that would define much of mid-1990s heavy music, and the band built on it with Ugly (1995) and Soul Searching Sun (1997). Frontperson Mina Caputo, who publicly came out as transgender in 2011, rejoined the band for A Place Where There's No More Pain (2017) and The Sound of Scars (2019).
Barcelona, ES · 2017–present · active
Spanish crossover/thrash metal band from Barcelona, fusing thrash aggression with crossover punk attitude since 2017. Their approach delivers mosh-ready intensity rooted in the Catalan underground.
Marsa, MT · 2003–present · active
Maltese death metal/crossover band from Marsa, active since 2003 and representing the island's longest-running extreme act. Their two decades of brutality make them pioneers of the Maltese underground metal scene.
Paris, FR · 2018–present · active
French thrash metal/crossover/hardcore band from Paris, merging thrash speed with punk attitude since 2018. Their name, a fusion of 'loco' and 'muerte,' captures the wild, death-defying energy of their crossover assault.
