Insanecide was a heavy metal and hard rock trio from Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, active from 2013 until their split-up. The band combined the rhythmic weight of groove metal with melodic hard rock sensibilities, drawing comparisons to Pantera, and released the four-track EP Counter alongside a music video for the track "The Rift."
Isa Nielsen is a Danish-Brazilian heavy metal guitarist and vocalist based in São Paulo who began performing at age 13 and has built a career spanning major Brazilian stages. She has performed at Rock in Rio and opened for Tom Morello and John 5 at the Best of Blues and Rock festival before audiences of over 40,000, and has jammed live with Steve Vai. Her debut album "Break the Chains" showcases her dual role as a lead guitarist and vocalist in the classic heavy metal and hard rock tradition.
Janus Stark is an English punk rock and hard rock band formed in 1996 by guitarist Gizz Butt, known for his work with English Dogs and the UK Subs, while concurrently serving as touring guitarist for The Prodigy. Their 1998 debut Great Adventure Cigar on Earache Records drew on Helmet, punk, and classic rock influences, and a song from that album appeared on the soundtracks to the films Disturbing Behavior and Varsity Blues; Butt reformed the band in 2018 after a lengthy hiatus.
Jesters & Klowns are a heavy/power metal band from Córdoba, Argentina, whose current lineup consists of Fer Melian (guitar/backing vocals), DD Garcia (drums), and Lahied (bass). Jesushed is a thrash and heavy metal band founded in 2014 by Fabio Curtis in Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, Brazil. Formed in 2015, Jim Breuer and the Loud & Rowdy is the musical project of veteran stand-up comedian Jim Breuer, backed by a band featuring producer and guitarist Rob Caggiano of Anthrax and Volbeat. Their 2016 debut Songs from the Garage on Metal Blade Records channels the classic hard rock of AC/DC and Judas Priest, with AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson contributing guest vocals to two tracks on the album.
Kamikaze is a heavy metal and hard rock band from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, originally formed in 1984 and reactivated in 2016. The band released a self-titled EP in 1986 featuring the track "Machado de Guerra," which became an anthem for an entire generation of Brazilian metal fans, and followed it with the full-length Kamikaze II in 1990 on Cogumelo Records. A 2023 reissue collected both early records alongside six previously unreleased tracks from 1994.
Kavla is a heavy metal and hard rock band from São Paulo, Brazil, with origins dating to 1992. The band released the album Dream or Reality in 1995 and returned after a hiatus with Surreal in 2008, building a catalog rooted in melodic traditional heavy metal. Their current lineup features Thiago Cicilini on vocals, Sandro Silva and Fábio Silva on guitars, Carlos Ceroni on keyboards, Marcelo Eiger on bass, and Nina Pará on drums.
Khannas is a southern/groove metal band from San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina, whose debut release was the EP Lengua de Diablo, issued on January 31, 2016. The four-track EP — containing "Bordeando abismos," "Resiste el olvido," "Memorias latentes," and "Lengua de diablo" — was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Aire Records by Facundo Lucero, with all compositions written by Fernando Ferre.
