T.H.O.R. from Schneeberg in Saxony blend pagan themes with black and heavy metal elements, formed in 2024 in the Erzgebirge mountain region of eastern Germany. Their sound draws on the mystical heritage of the ore-rich Saxon highlands.
T.T. Quick formed in Osbornville, New Jersey in 1979 and spent years building a following in the New York/New Jersey club circuit before signing with Megaforce Records — alongside Metallica, Anthrax, and Overkill — in the early 1980s. Their breakthrough full-length Metal of Honor (1986) on Island Records, produced by Max Norman, cemented their reputation as a sharp heavy metal act, and vocalist Mark Tornillo later became the frontman of Accept in 2009. The band reunited in the 2000s and again in later years, releasing a new album of mid-1980s-era material in 2022.
Heavy metal band from Samedan, Grisons, active between 1996 and 2000, notable for writing all their lyrics in Rhaeto-Romansh—the rare Romance language spoken in southeastern Switzerland. Their themes focused on satirical social criticism, lending a pointed and locally rooted perspective unusual in the Swiss metal underground. Though short-lived, they represent a genuinely singular moment in Swiss regional metal, using the language of a linguistic minority to deliver heavy music.
Swedish power metal band Tad Morose formed in Bollnäs in 1991 under the consistent creative direction of guitarist Christer Andersson, releasing their debut Leaving the Past Behind in 1993. The band released a string of albums through the 1990s and 2000s before reforming in 2013 with vocalist Ronny Hemlin, recording Revenant and St. Demonius (2015) in a European melodic metal style. Their tenth studio album, March of the Obsequious, appeared in 2022.
Taifa is a progressive heavy metal band from Palma, Mallorca, Spain, active since 2008. They explore progressive structures within a heavy metal framework from the Balearic Islands.
Tailgater from North Rhine-Westphalia forge heavy and speed metal that harks back to the golden age of '80s metal, combining galloping tempos with anthemic hooks since 2015. Their approach channels the Teutonic tradition of Accept and early Helloween through a modern production sensibility.
Heavy metal band from São Paulo, formed in 1990 by brothers Lennon Biscasse (bass) and Lely Biscasse (guitar), who built the group around a New Wave of British Heavy Metal foundation. The band released three studio albums: Battlefield (1998) on Laser Company Records with vocalist Mário Pastore, Behind the History (2001) on Megahard Records with Roddy B on vocals — which was licensed for distribution in Europe, the United States, and Japan — and The Gloomy Night (2013) independently with Daniel Rock on vocals; at various points the band opened for Savatage, Stratovarius, and Saxon.
Buffalo's Takken have been flying the flag for traditional heavy metal since 2013, drawing from the classic NWOBHM playbook without apology or irony. There's a directness to their craft — twin guitar leads, anthemic hooks, and the kind of chest-forward riffing that made metal matter in the first place.
Talas formed in Buffalo, New York in 1974 as a regional power trio anchored by bassist Billy Sheehan, whose virtuosic technique drew widespread attention when the band opened thirty shows for Van Halen in 1980. The band released a self-titled debut in 1979 and several independent records including Sink Your Teeth into That (1982) and the live album Live Speed on Ice (1983) before Sheehan departed in 1985 to join David Lee Roth's band. In 2022, Sheehan reunited with former Talas members to record 1985, an album of material written during the band's final lineup era.
