Winnipeg's Comeback Kid have been one of the most reliably vital forces in melodic hardcore since forming in 2001, balancing the raw urgency of traditional hardcore punk with tuneful hooks and an earnest, community-minded ethos that has won them a devoted international following. Beginning with their acclaimed 2003 debut Turn It Around, the band built a discography across seven studio albums — including Outsider (2017) and Heavy Steps (2022) via Nuclear Blast — that consistently broadened their reach without sacrificing their underground credibility.
Bournemouth and Southampton melodic hardcore band Heart In Hand formed in 2008 around vocalist Charlie Holmes following his departure from Trigger the Bloodshed. The band released three albums — Only Memories (2011), Almost There (2013), and A Beautiful White (2014) — the last of which was produced by Will Putney and released through Century Media Records. They dissolved in early 2015 after a well-regarded run in the UK melodic hardcore scene.
Leeds hardcore band Higher Power formed in 2014 when drummer Alex Wizard relocated from London and began writing music with his brother Jimmy Wizard, who eventually took on vocal duties. Their debut Soul Structure (2017) earned strong reviews, and 27 Miles Underwater — released through Roadrunner Records — broadened their reach by incorporating alternative rock and melodic post-hardcore elements alongside New York hardcore-influenced grooves. They are frequently cited as a leading act in the new wave of British hardcore.
Orange County, California melodic hardcore band Ignite formed in 1993 and built a strong international reputation through relentless touring across more than forty countries before their commercial breakthrough A Place Called Home (2000) on TVT Records. Their catalog, which includes Call on My Brothers (1995), Past Our Means (1996), Our Darkest Days (2006), and A War Against You (2016) — which charted at number six in Germany — is characterized by complex arrangements, Zoli Teglas's soaring vocals, and consistently outward-looking, politically engaged lyrics. They remain one of the most durable and internationally recognized acts in American melodic hardcore.
