Piah Mater is the progressive death metal duo of vocalist/guitarist Luiz Felipe Netto and guitarist Igor Meira, whose dense, Opeth-influenced sound weaves dissonant extremity with extended atmospheric passages and a disregard for conventional song structures. Across three albums — "Memories of Inexistence" (2014), "The Wandering Daughter" (2018), and "Under the Shadow of a Foreign Sun" (2024, Code 666) — the duo have steadily carved out a more distinct identity, incorporating jazz-inflected saxophone work by Jørgen Munkeby on their latest record.

Psychotic Eyes is a progressive death metal band from São Paulo, founded in 1999, whose second album "I Only Smile Behind The Mask" (2011) was mixed and mastered by Jean François Dagenais, guitarist of Kataklysm. Their third release, "Olhos Vermelhos" (December 2018), was recorded entirely with acoustic guitars and guttural vocals and was promoted as the first acoustic death metal album, with artwork by visual artist Nua Estrela.
