Drogula is a Buenos Aires stoner/doom duo founded in March 2022 by Nicolas Casabona (guitar/vocals) and Marcelo Soria (drums), who describe their sound as "sludge stoner space doom with occultist touches of necropsycodelia." The band released their debut full-length "Volume 1" on March 1, 2023, followed by "Volume 2" in January 2025, with both records receiving vinyl editions through Austin-based Herby Records.
Madison, Wisconsin's Droids Attack have been a fixture of the Midwest stoner metal underground since 2004, building a catalog of heavy, fuzz-loaded riff rock that nods to the desert rock lineage while keeping things rooted in the Midwest's own brand of unpretentious heaviness. Over two decades they've honed a sound that's equal parts groove and tonnage.
Drone Hunter is an instrumental sludge and stoner metal trio from Varazdin, Croatia, formed in 2012 by Luka Klen, Marko Gotal, and Filip Hajdarovic. Self-described as "a rock band playing heavy riffs without a singer," their 2022 tenth-anniversary EP In Gear was recorded at e-minor studio and mastered by Jeff Henson at Red Nova Ranch in Austin, Texas.
Dronegoola Machine plays stoner/sludge metal from Moscow, active since 2015 and constructing massive, drone-influenced compositions through their self-described sonic apparatus. Their machine-name format signals an industrial approach to heavy, repetitive riffing.
Dront is a doom and stoner metal band from Norrkoping, Sweden, formed in 2013. The project delivers heavy doom and stoner riffs.
Drudge is a groove/stoner metal band from Germany, formed in 2023. They deliver heavy, sludgy grooves and stoner metal riffs.
Druganaut is a stoner metal band from Newcastle upon Tyne, formed in 2011. The band deliver hazy, riff-heavy stoner metal rooted in the heavy psychedelic tradition.
Druglord plays stoner/doom metal from the Netherlands, active since 2012 and ruling over a kingdom of fuzz-drenched heaviness. Their narcotics-kingpin name captures the intoxicating, mind-altering quality of their slow, heavily distorted compositions.
Fremont's Druid surfaced in 2018 playing doom and stoner metal with a California haze built into every riff — slow-rolling tempos, fuzz-heavy tones, and an emphasis on hypnotic groove over urgency. The Bay Area underground has long supported this kind of deliberate, weight-focused heavy music, and Druid fits naturally into that lineage.
