A 2025 formation out of Syracuse, New York, Void Emperor combine doom metal's suffocating tempo with sludge's corroded weight and the hazy warmth of stoner metal — the kind of combination that turns listening into a slow, deliberate surrender. Syracuse has a long underground metal heritage, and Void Emperor slot into it naturally, channeling something ancient and heavy that feels rooted in place. Brand new but immediately committed to the low and slow.
Pennsylvania's Void Master, formed in 2021 in Pennsburg, deal in the intersection of doom and stoner metal — massive, low-tuned riffs built to move at the pace of erosion, with a fuzz-thick tone that fills the room. There's a ritual quality to their approach, each song unfolding on its own unhurried terms. They're part of a strong regional tradition of heavy, riff-driven Pennsylvania acts who take the "heavy" in heavy metal at face value.
Bratislava's Void Odyssey generates thick, fuzz-drenched grooves at the intersection of doom and stoner metal, channeling the psychedelic heaviness of the genre's heaviest practitioners. Their slow, hypnotic riffing creates an immersive sonic voyage through distorted soundscapes.
Void of Sleep is a stoner/sludge metal band from Ravenna, Italy, established in 2010 and described as creating "a cosmic amalgam of stoned out, progressive sludge rock." Their four albums — from 2014's "Tales Between Reality and Madness" to 2025's "The Abyss into which We All Have to Stare" — blend doom breakdowns, complex time signatures, and psychedelia with synthesizers.

Over a decade in, they're still one of the Triangle's reliable heavy underground fixtures.
Volcanova is a stoner metal/rock band from Reykjavík, Iceland, formed in 2020. Their albums "Radical Waves" and "Cosmic Bullshit" — the latter recorded at Studio Helviti and mastered by Esben Willems — deliver heavy, groove-laden stoner rock from the Icelandic underground.
