...And Oceans is a Finnish black metal band founded in 1989 in Jyväskylä under the name Festerday, shifting to symphonic black metal and adopting their current name in the late 1990s. The band released their debut The Dynamic Gallery of Thoughts in 1998 on Season of Mist, and by their 2001 album A.M.G.O.D. via Century Media had incorporated industrial rhythms, EBM, and techno elements into a notably avant-garde take on black metal. The group disbanded and reformed under various names before fully reconstituting as ...And Oceans in 2020, releasing Cosmic World Mother and the 2023 follow-up As in Gardens, So in Tombs, continuing their experimental evolution.

Afasia was a symphonic black metal band from Conchal, São Paulo, Brazil, who released their debut album "Far from Existence, Close to the Essence" in May 2023 before disbanding. The record was praised in underground circles for its excellently orchestrated melodic black metal in the vein of late-1990s and early-2000s European symphonic black metal, and the band followed it with a second release, "In the Arms of Death."
