Nytt Land is a Siberian Nordic folk and ritual music project formed in 2013 by husband-and-wife duo Anatoly and Natalya Pakhalenko in Kalachinsk, Russia, combining Tuvan throat singing with traditional instruments and Old Norse lyrical sources. Their early self-released albums, including adaptations of the Hávamál and Elder Edda poems, established a deeply ritualistic aesthetic rooted in pre-Christian Norse mythology and shamanistic practice. The project signed to Cold Spring Records for Fimbulvinter (2017) and later to Napalm Records, reaching a broader international audience with albums including Ritual.

French Nordic folk ensemble SKÁLD conjure the spirit of the Viking Age through haunting vocal arrangements sung primarily in Old Norse, accompanied by traditional instruments like the talharpa, jouhikko, and shamanic drums. Their albums 'Vikings Chant,' 'Vikings Memories,' and 'Huldufólk' draw from the Poetic Edda and Norse mythology to create immersive sonic journeys through the ancient Scandinavian world. Despite being French rather than Scandinavian, SKÁLD's scholarly approach to Norse tradition and their powerful, ritualistic performances have earned them a passionate international following.

The Devil's Trade is the solo project of Hungarian singer-songwriter Dávid Makó, who launched it in 2014 after departing the doom and hardcore act Stereochrist to pursue a stark, intimate sound rooted in Appalachian folk, dark Americana, and the folk traditions of Hungary and Transylvania. Performing alone with acoustic guitar or banjo, Makó built a reputation in European doom and folk circles through emotionally raw compositions; his album The Call of the Iron Peak drew particular acclaim for the severity of its stripped-down arrangements. The project has gradually expanded to include additional musicians and released Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép via Pelagic Records in November 2025.
