The Virgin Marys, more commonly styled The Virginmarys, are a Macclesfield rock band whose music blends hard rock muscle, punk directness, and alternative rock grit. Formed in the 2000s around Ally Dickaty and Danny Dolan, the group first built momentum as a raw three-piece before later operating as a leaner duo. Their debut album King of Conflict brought wider attention in 2013, pairing sharp riffs and pounding drums with songs that sounded angry, melodic, and road-tested. Follow-up releases such as Divides and Northern Sun Sessions continued to lean on urgency rather than polish, with Dickaty's voice carrying both rasp and vulnerability. Theory of a Deadman are a Canadian hard rock band from North Delta, British Columbia whose career has moved between post-grunge weight, radio rock hooks, acoustic detours, and darker lyrical turns. Formed in 1999 by Tyler Connolly, Dave Brenner, Dean Back, and early drummer Tim Hart, the band reached mainstream rock audiences through a partnership with 604 Records and Roadrunner, then built a long run of charting singles. Bridgend, Wales' Those Damn Crows keep the spirit of classic hard rock alive with their pounding, ultra-melodic anthems that channel the energy of 70s and 80s rock through a modern lens. Their 2025 album 'God Shaped Hole' reached number one on the UK Official Albums Chart, a career-crowning achievement after a decade of relentless gigging and independent hustle on Earache Records. Three Days Grace formed in Ontario after earlier roots as Groundswell and became one of Canada's biggest modern hard-rock exports.
