Brimstone Coven is a doom metal and occult rock band from Wheeling, West Virginia, formed in 2011 by guitarist Corey Roth, who assembled the group around vocalist 'Big John' Williams and a core of local scene veterans. The band's self-released early material led to a deal with Metal Blade Records in 2014, with their Metal Blade debut appearing that same year and Black Magic following in 2016, both records rooted in the Black Sabbath and Pentagram tradition with additional influence from Led Zeppelin and early Pink Floyd. They later moved to Ripple Music for The Woes of a Mortal Earth (2020).

Finland's Cvlt Ov The Svn emerged in 2018 as an anonymous, one-person project that cheekily coined the term "occult murder pop" to describe their disorienting fusion of black metal atmospherics, gothic rock darkness, and seductive pop melodicism — a combination nodding to Ghost, Type O Negative, and Marilyn Manson in equal measure. Signed to Napalm Records, the project's 2021 debut We Are the Dragon brought their provocative aesthetic to a wider audience, making them one of the more intriguing and idiosyncratic voices in Finnish extreme music.

Copenhagen's Demon Head, formed in 2012, blend vintage doom metal with occult rock and 1970s hard rock influence into a sound they have dubbed "diabolic rock" — a murky, proto-doom-tinged style evoking Pentagram and Saint Vitus, colored with gothic atmosphere and psychedelic shadings. Signed to Svart Records and later Metal Blade, albums including Hellfire Ocean Void (2019) and Viscera (2021) have established them as one of Scandinavia's more distinctive occult doom acts, their songs slowly unspooling through incantatory riffs and darkly romantic imagery.
