Ol Drake is the guitarist and vocalist of British thrash metal band Evile, who launched a solo project under his own name in 2013 following a temporary departure from the group. His debut solo album Old Rake (2015), released on Earache Records, is an all-instrumental collection spanning thrash, neoclassical shred, and classic rock, featuring guest appearances from Gary Holt (Exodus/Slayer), James Murphy (Death/Testament), and Josh Middleton (Sylosis), with drums by Mike Heller. Drake has since returned to Evile as frontman, but Old Rake stands as a showcase of his range outside the band's signature aggression.

Bristol's Onslaught are thrash metal lifers who helped build the UK thrash scene alongside peers like Sabbat and Xentrix in the late 1980s. Albums 'The Force' and 'In Search of Sanity' established their ripping, Slayer-influenced attack, and after a lengthy hiatus, they returned with renewed ferocity on 'Killing Peace' and subsequent releases to reclaim their place in the European thrash hierarchy.
