Beyond Creation are a technical and progressive death metal band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, formed in 2005 by vocalist and guitarist Simon Girard. Their self-released debut The Aura (2011) drew immediate critical attention for its fretless bass work, fluid song structures, and blend of Gorguts-influenced dissonance with progressive melody; the album was re-released after the band signed with Season of Mist in 2013. Earthborn Evolution (2014) and Algorythm (2018, Juno Award-nominated) further cemented their position as one of technical death metal's most compositionally sophisticated acts.
