Chaostrophe is a death metal band from St. Cloud, Minnesota, formed in 2008, that incorporates melodic and progressive elements into their approach to the genre. The band has operated independently in the Minnesota metal underground.
Chaosweaver formed in Helsinki, Finland in 2004, constructing a symphonic black metal sound augmented with industrial electronic elements and thematic interests in theoretical physics, Finnish mythology, and chaos theory. The band drew compositional influence from Jean Sibelius, Carl Orff, and Richard Wagner alongside extreme metal predecessors.
