Septic Corpse crawled out of Frostburg, Maryland in 2024, immediately planting themselves in the goregrind end of extreme music. Their brand of grindcore prioritizes speed and grotesque texture over everything else, trading in the kind of lo-fi savagery that goregrind demands. Even as a newly formed outfit, they waste no time making their filthy intentions known.
Los Angeles death metal act Septic Fumes formed in 2023 and quickly established a reputation for dense, suffocating brutality within the sprawling Southern California underground. Their music draws on the city's long tradition of brutal and old-school death metal, filtered through a modern contempt for polish. They are a young band with an ugly, uncompromising vision.

Septicflesh is a Greek symphonic death metal band formed in Athens in 1990 by brothers Spyridon 'Seth Siro Anton' Antoniou and Christos Antoniou alongside guitarist Sotiris Vagenas, initially releasing dark and gothic-inflected death metal records through the 1990s. Following a hiatus, the band reformed in 2007 with a dramatically expanded sound incorporating the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and a full choir, debuting this approach on Communion (2008) through Season of Mist. Subsequent albums including The Great Mass (2011), Titan (2014), Codex Omega (2017), and Modern Primitive (2022) cemented their status as one of extreme metal's most technically and orchestrally ambitious acts, and in 2024 they became the first metal band to perform at the historic Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens.
