Ripping Melodic Death Metal / Metalcore from Dallas.
The Planet Smashers are a Montreal ska punk band whose bright horns, quick rhythms, and comic energy made them a durable name in Canada's third-wave ska scene. Formed in 1993, the group became closely tied to Stomp Records, the label launched by singer and guitarist Matt Collyer, and helped define a local circuit that connected punk venues, ska crowds, and cross-country touring. Their songs are built for movement: clipped upstroke guitars, bouncing bass lines, punchy brass, fast tempos, and choruses that often lean into humor, romance, nightlife, and exaggerated bad luck. The band can be playful without sounding careless, because the arrangements are tight and the performances know exactly when to push harder. Albums such as Attack of The Planet Smashers, Life of the Party, No Self Control, and later releases show a group that kept ska punk's optimism alive through years when the style drifted in and out of fashion. The Planet Smashers matter because they made Montreal's ska scene feel exportable while keeping a local working-band spirit. Their music is unpretentious, energetic, and stubbornly fun, but beneath the fun is real craft and long-haul commitment.
The Pledge of Cain from Strasbourg deliver drone, doom, and sludge metal with the biblical weight of the first murderer's oath since 2008. Nearly two decades of crushing, Cain-cursed heaviness from the Alsatian capital has produced some of eastern France's most oppressive metal.
Sandusky, Ohio's The Plot In You have undergone one of metalcore's most dramatic transformations under the creative vision of vocalist-producer Landon Tewers, evolving from the unrelenting aggression of early albums like 'Could You Watch Your Children Burn' into the dark, electronic-tinged alternative rock of 'Dispose' and 'Swan Song.' Tewers's willingness to completely reinvent the band's sound with each release, moving from screaming metalcore to haunting, atmospherically dense rock, has won them a broader audience while retaining the emotional intensity that has always defined their work. His prolific solo production work has further established Tewers as one of the scene's most talented multi-hyphenate creators.
The Poisoned from Manchester deliver thrash and heavy metal with the toxic contamination their venomous name implies since 2012. Over a decade of poisonous compositions from the northwest has produced consistently aggressive metal.
Poison the Preacher is a thrash metal, crossover, and hardcore punk band from Bogotá, Colombia, formed in 2021. The band blends raw hardcore aggression with old-school thrash principles and released their debut full-length "Vs the World" in 2025 through Concreto Records. Their catalog also includes several singles and a split release from 2022–2023.
The Pretty Reckless, fronted by actress-turned-rock-vocalist Taylor Momsen, defied every expectation leveled at a celebrity-fronted band by delivering genuinely excellent hard rock fueled by Momsen's commanding voice and producer Kato Khandwala's sleek production. Their albums 'Going to Hell' and 'Death by Rock and Roll' produced multiple number-one rock singles, making Momsen the first female artist to have five chart-toppers on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Rooted in classic rock traditions but delivered with modern edge, The Pretty Reckless have earned their credibility the hard way: through great songs and relentless touring.
Stockholm and Malmo's Pretty Wild channel the spirit of 1980s Sunset Strip glam into unashamedly melodic, high-energy hard rock driven by Ivan Hoglund's powerful vocals and the band's knack for infectious, hook-laden songwriting. Albums like 'All the Way' and 'Interstate 13' deliver a potent dose of sleaze rock and arena-ready choruses that pay homage to the glory days of Def Leppard and Motley Crue. Their unapologetic embrace of the glam metal aesthetic and party-ready attitude makes them a refreshing throwback in an era of genre-blending experimentation.
THE PRIMALS are the official rock band of Final Fantasy XIV, formed by the game's sound director Masayoshi Soken to perform heavy metal arrangements of the MMORPG's beloved soundtrack. The band transforms the orchestral and electronic compositions of FFXIV into thundering live rock performances, featuring Soken on guitar and vocals alongside a full band that brings the game's epic battle themes to concert stages. Their sold-out performances at Yokohama Arena and Makuhari Messe have demonstrated that video game music can fill the biggest venues when given the full rock band treatment.
