Taak is a doom metal band from Tallinn, Estonia, formed in 2019. They deliver crushing doom metal from the Estonian capital.
Taake was founded in Bergen, Norway in 1993 by multi-instrumentalist Hoest under the name Thule, renamed Taake — the Norwegian word for 'fog' — in 1995 as a tribute to his hometown's coastal landscape. The band operates primarily as a one-man studio entity and released a celebrated trilogy of concept albums between 1999 and 2005 centered on death, Norway, and the devil, followed by Noregs vaapen (2011), which featured guest appearances from Attila Csihar, Nocturno Culto, and Demonaz.
