Twilight of the Gods coalesced in 2010 as a Bathory tribute project before evolving into an original band, taking their name from the sixth Bathory album. The lineup assembled a collection of veterans drawn from Einherjer, Mayhem, Aura Noir, Thyrfing, and Primordial — the latter's Alan Averill serving as vocalist. Their debut Fire on the Mountain (2013) presented original material steeped in Bathory's epic Viking and heavy metal heritage rather than straightforward black metal.
Twilight Symphony is an El Paso, Texas symphonic progressive metal band formed in 2021, blending orchestral arrangements with intricate progressive metal composition in a city that sits at the crossroads of the American Southwest and northern Mexico.
Twilight Zone from Düsseldorf deliver speed and thrash metal named after the legendary TV series, channeling the strange and supernatural through rapid-fire aggression since 2022. Their Rod Serling-inspired name frames compositions of unsettling velocity from the Rhineland.
Twin Lords is a grindcore and sludge metal band from Ithaca, New York, formed in 2012, merging the short, brutal blasts of grindcore with the thick, lurching weight of sludge metal into a punishing hybrid sound.
Twin Mammoth is a sludge metal band from Rockford, Illinois, formed in 2023, channeling the heavy, distortion-saturated sound of the Midwest underground into slow, crushing riff-driven compositions.
Twin Obscenity formed in Stavanger, Norway in 1991 and 1992, playing a style that blended black and death metal with Viking-era atmospheric elements. Their debut Where Light Touches None (1997) was released on Head Not Found, followed by For Blood, Honor and Soil on Century Media Records after the band signed to the label in 1998. The band released three full-length albums before disbanding.
Twin Scar is a black/doom metal band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in 2025, combining the icy malevolence of black metal with the glacial, despairing tempos of doom metal into a dark and suffocating sound.
Twin Tribes are a Brownsville, Texas darkwave duo formed by Luis Navarro and Joel Nino Jr., and their music draws a clear line from 1980s gothic rock and synth-driven post-punk to a modern DIY scene. Shadows introduced the core palette: deep vocals, drum-machine pulse, chorus-drenched guitar, melodic bass, and synthesizers that create a nocturnal, romantic chill. Ceremony, Altars, and Pendulum expanded the mood with stronger dance-floor drive, Spanish-language touches, and a more confident sense of gothic atmosphere. Songs such as "Fantasmas," "Shadows," "Heart and Feather," and "Monolith" show why the duo reached far beyond regional Texas circles: the writing is minimal enough for clubs, but the melodies are memorable and emotionally direct. Twin Tribes are not metal, yet they belong in the accepted post-punk and goth-rock scope, especially for a directory that recognizes heavy music's adjacent scenes. Their darkness comes through restraint rather than volume, with repetition, reverb, and bass movement doing the work that distortion would do in a heavier band, especially live.
Twin Wizard is a stoner/doom metal band from Madison, Wisconsin, formed in 2020, trafficking in heavy, fuzz-coated riffs and occult-tinged atmosphere drawn from the dual traditions of desert rock and classic doom.
