Gost
Operating out of Longview, Texas, GosT is the project of James Cody Lollar, who launched the darksynth persona in January 2013 under the pseudonym Baalberith. Drawing equally from horror film synthetics, black metal's bleak atmosphere, and the industrial aggression of early Ministry, GosT helped define the darksynth subgenre alongside Carpenter Brut and Perturbator. Albums including Possessor (2018), Valediction (2019), and Rites of Love and Reverence (2021) on Century Media and Metal Blade Records deepened his integration of metal into the electronic framework.
