Brazilian atmospheric and depressive black metal project formed in 2014 by multi-instrumentalist Skymning and vocalist Seektor, initially under the name Bosque Negro before settling on Abisma. The duo has been remarkably prolific, releasing a series of full-lengths including Memórias (2015), Mundo Inóspito (2016), Réquiem (2016), and Clamor, alongside splits with acts such as Invernium, crafting layered, melancholic black metal with ambient and doom overtones.
Blood Flowing is a depressive and atmospheric black metal project from Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, formed in 2025. The project describes its music as a personal confession rather than an artistic endeavor, releasing material including the album "To Live Is To Suffer... And I Am Tired Of Living" and a split with Old Ugly Trees. Their sound sits firmly within the depressive suicidal black metal (DSBM) tradition.
Callix Aureus is a one-person depressive black and doom metal project from Brasília, Brazil, created by musician Maycon Moura. The project blends atmospheric black metal with depressive suicidal black metal (DSBM) and doom, creating mournful, snow-buried soundscapes with lacerated vocals. Celestial Oblivion is an atmospheric/ambient black metal band formed in São Paulo, Brazil in 2012. The band released their debut EP Cosmic Descent: A Prologue For Human Plague in May 2012, followed by the full-length The Arrival of the Fallen God in September 2013. Their sound draws on cosmic and cosmological themes, blending ambient textures with black metal aggression.
Deadwishes is a Brazilian atmospheric and depressive black metal project formed in 2018, operating within the country's active DSBM underground scene. Dorko is an atmospheric and melodic black metal band from La Paz, Bolivia, active since 2016. Their 2017 debut full-length Darkness of Lucifer blends melodic black metal song structures with occult lyrical themes, delivering tracks in both English and Spanish across a sprawling twelve-track release. The band self-releases their music independently and has been recognized within the Latin American black metal underground.
Fir Forest is an atmospheric and epic black metal band formed in 2021 in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. The band released their debut full-length album Relicts in December 2024 through independent channels.
Incidere is a one-person atmospheric/depressive black metal and dark ambient project from Mexico City, formed in 2018 by multi-instrumentalist Lura Dyzert. The project is signed to BMC Productions and released the full-length Return the Light in 2021.
Magna Corporea is an Argentine one-man atmospheric and raw black metal project that released its debut album "Bliss of Non-Temporal Condition" in January 2023 on Regimental Records, followed by "Dialect of the Unborn (Birth Wound and Xenoglossia)" in November 2023. The project is available on Bandcamp and has also been distributed physically through Sunshine Ward Recordings.
