Pedo — the word is Spanish for 'fart,' and the name is entirely intentional — is a death/thrash metal and punk band from Neuquén, the capital of the Neuquén province in Patagonia, a city that has produced a surprisingly robust metal scene given its distance from the cultural centers of Buenos Aires and Córdoba. Formed in 2014 according to their current incarnation (with earlier activity noted on Metal Archives going back as far as 2007), the band plants themselves in the scatological, horror-inflected corner of extreme metal where bands treat shock value and black humor as legitimate artistic tools — a tradition running from the early grindcore scene through Brazilian death metal and into the Argentine underground. Their lyrical themes of feces, horror, and humor are not merely juvenile provocation but part of a coherent aesthetic that strips away any pretension from the genre, delivering death/thrash with a punk band's lack of concern for dignity or commercial palatability. Neuquén's metal scene has historically been tied to the broader Patagonian metal ecosystem — a region that developed its own distinct identity within Argentine metal, partly through isolation and partly through the influence of indigenous Mapuche cultural elements that some local bands have incorporated, though Pedo operate at the rawer, less ceremonial end of the spectrum. Their current on-hold status suggests the project has stalled without formally disbanding — a common state for underground bands in Argentina's interior, where life logistics and the difficulty of maintaining momentum in geographically isolated scenes often pause rather than end musical projects.
Percantor is a death/thrash metal band from Bogotá, Colombia, founded in 2005. The band released their debut full-length "Ritos de Batalla" in 2020, a nine-track album delivering Spanish-language death/thrash material, followed by the single "Enemigo" in 2025. They remain an independent unsigned act.

One of Espírito Santo's earliest extreme metal exports, Porrada!!! formed in 1991 and quickly carved through death/black metal into grindcore territory, releasing three records in rapid succession: The Avalanche (1992), The Society's Open Hurts (1993), and Long Live Grindcore!!! (1994). Their lyrics tackled death, politics, and social decay, and the increasing grindcore aggression across those three releases marked them as genuine pioneers of the Brazilian extreme underground.
Profane Anger is a death/black metal trio featuring Rômulo Nekro Daemon on vocals and bass, Paulo Death on guitars, and Reverend Ivan Sabbath on drums, recording out of Natal's Abyss Occults and Black Hole studios. Quemarlo Todo is a death/thrash/hardcore band from Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia, formed in 2022. They released the Incendia EP in 2023 and the live album I Am Hell in 2025, both self-released as an independent act. The project was founded by guitarist David Rodríguez, drawing together members from other Colombian acts including UltraDeath, Fierro, and Burden of Hate.
Raiken is a melodic death and thrash metal band from Brasília active since at least 2019, with a lineup of Ricardo Leite on bass and vocals, Cristiano Marques and Leonardo Pacheco on guitars, and Daniel Neves on drums. Their five-track EP Shattered Shield, released on March 20, 2026, moves across melodic death metal, thrash, and epic heavy metal and was independently produced by the band.
Crossover/thrash band from Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro state, formed in 2010 by vocalist George Campos, guitarist Giovane Henriques, bassist Matheus Fernandes, and drummer Argron César. The band released the demo Massacre Urbano in 2010 and their debut full-length Pesadelo Brasileiro in August 2017, recorded between October and December 2015 at Studio Hammer in Campos dos Goytacazes.
