Magzilla was a doom, stoner, and sludge metal band from São Paulo, Brazil, active from 2013 until splitting up in 2017. The quartet — featuring Guilherme Foresti on vocals and guitar, Pedro Alves on guitar, Joe Borges on bass, and Leandro Furini on drums — released two records: The Oath in March 2016 and a self-titled album in July 2017.
A one-man project by Élcio Junior, who also performs in Tocaia and the death metal duo All I Hate, Malsagrado channels the anguish and frustrations of modern life through a tormented blend of doom-laden riffs and post-black metal atmosphere. The 2023 debut EP 'Trauma Calma Karma' presents three Portuguese-language compositions that shift from raw, impure black metal passages into heavier, suffocating doom, with guest vocals from Helder Ribeiro on the track 'Calma.'
Melencolia I is a one-man project by guitarist and multi-instrumentalist João P. Amorim Xavier, weaving together atmospheric black metal, doom, shoegaze, and progressive metal into a dense philosophical framework that the artist describes as exploring the depths of human existence through poetic themes. The project released the EP "Introspective Violence" in early 2026, following the earlier full-length "Hermitage."
Monasterium was a death/doom/gothic metal band from Teresina active in the late 1990s, releasing the full-length "Innocent Rise" on Demise Records in 1999 and a demo titled "Inviolable" in 1998. Their sound blended the heavy melodic sensibility of gothic doom with death metal weight, placing them among the more ambitious extreme acts to emerge from the Piauí underground.
Mono Histeria is a Curitiba outfit blending progressive, doom, and stoner metal into a dense, riff-driven sound. The band released "Volume 1" in 2022 and has tracks such as "Instinto" and "Primata" available on streaming platforms, pointing toward a sound influenced by the heavier end of the psychedelic and doom rock spectrum.
